Two Dakar Rally racers were arrested in Antofagasta, Chile on Friday after straying from the official course and damaging an archaeological site. The drivers were detained at their resting camp and later released after giving testimony – they explained that they crossed the forbidden area, a route used by the Chilean Army in the Pacific War, because they got lost. The two men were allowed to continue onto the next stage of the course but may have to remain in the country to appear before a judge. Read more: argentinaindependent.com
