Chinese rail company introduces bike ban on trains
All bicycles, including folding bikes, have been banned on Chinese trains by the China Railway Corp. The move is said to be aimed at creating more space for passengers on trains, which can be quite crowded, especially during busy public holidays. Bicycles can still be dismantled and carried on if boxed, and many Chinese train stations offer bicycle check-in services, which carry bikes on trains as cargo for an extra fee.
