Last dance as iconic London nightclub closes doors

One of London’s most revered nightclubs is closing. Plastic People, in Shoreditch, has hosted nights from DJs including Four Tet, Theo Parrish and Floating Points, and was the home of seminal dubstep night FWD>>. The venue, which had previously operated on Oxford St, closed after a party on 2 Jan. The closure comes shortly after superclub Fabric was required to place sniffer dogs on its doors, with some commentators suggesting that London’s world-famous nightlife may be under threat from unsympathetic local authorities and property developers.
