Chennai air and rail travel hampered by rare fog

The southern Indian city of Chennai usually escapes the winter fog that hinders air and rail travel across northern India, but visibility dropped to less than 100m in the city on Sunday, leading to widespread flight delays and diversions. Around 25 flights were delayed and seven flights due to land in Chennai were diverted to other airports. Flights were eventually allowed to depart as visibility improved, but similar weather conditions are likely to persist for several more days. Read more: timesofindia.indiatimes.com
