President Obama has approved plans to construct a national memorial to World War One in Washington, DC. The memorial will commemorate the 4.7 million Americans who were involved in the war and will be located on an expanded area of Pershing Park, around a block from the White House. The design for the memorial has not yet been decided, but the World War One Centennial Commission hope to dedicate it by 11 November 2018, the 100th anniversary of the end of the war.
