Venezuela to close borders with Brazil and Guyana at night

The government of Venezuela announced Monday plans to close border crossings into Brazil and Guyana to reduce illegal smuggling of oil and food. The decision comes after President Nicolas Maduro’s closure of the border with Colombia for the same reasons. Since closing the border with Colombia in August, more than 1000 people have been detained for smuggling-related offenses and officials have seized thousands of tons of oil and food. The new rule will apply to those traveling by land, air and water from 10pm to 5am. Read more: kaiteurnewsonline.com
