Foreigner ‘still loves’ Thailand after being slapped by monk on train

An expat teacher who was filmed being slapped in the face by a Buddhist monk on a train between Bangkok and Phitsanulok last week said he ‘still loves’ Thailand despite the misunderstanding. The incident occurred after the monk misheard the man, who is thought to be Australian, say ‘fai’ which means buffalo (an insulting term) in Thai jargon. After the video clip went viral, the man known as Jeff released a separate video saying he held no grudge. Read more: bangkokpost.com
