Snowstorms bring avalanche risk to Iceland

Winter storms are sweeping through Iceland. On Tuesday, cars were forced off the road and routes were closed in Southwest Iceland. Since then, an avalanche risk has been declared for the Westfjords, while East Iceland is facing gale-force winds. Homes are without electricity, schools across North Iceland are closed and storm damage has included a roof blown off a shop in Þorlákshöfn. Read more:  icelandreview.com
