Typhoon Hagupit, locally known as ‘Ruby’, made landfall in the Philippines at the weekend and has been downgraded to a tropical storm as it has crossed the country towards Manila. Hundreds of thousands of people were evacuated due to the typhoon, with 24 people reported killed in the country’s east.
