Caribbean air fares to become cheaper for UK travellers

The UK government has pledged to reduce the air passenger duty for travellers flying to the Caribbean from the UK from May 2015, creating a saving of almost £150 for a family of four. The duty, which is currently applied to all flight tickets from the UK to the Caribbean islands, will be axed completely for children under 12. The duty for adults will be reduced to the same rate paid on flights to the US. The tax will be abolished for children under 16 from 2016.
