Vietnam declares Uber taxis illegal after complaints
The Vietnamese government has reportedly declared on their website that online taxi-booking service Uber Technologies is illegal in Vietnam and has no right to operate. Uber began operating in the country at the end of July, and has been the subject of complaints from existing cab associations in Ho Chi Minh City, as well as from Ho Chi Minh City taxation officials.
