Protests in Delhi following church fire

Christians in the Indian capital, Delhi are protesting after an alleged arson attack destroyed St Sebastian’s Church in the Dilshad Garden area of the city. Police initially dismissed the event as an electrical fire, but the investigation was reopened following complaints from the city’s Christian community about kerosene found at the scene. Christians across India have reported growing discrimination and violence in recent years and there are fears that the country is becoming increasingly polarised along religious grounds.
