Photos show then and now of Spanish Civil War

A US writer and historian has merged images taken of Madrid during the Spanish Civil War with current Google Street View, creating montages of Franco’s 1936 siege on the capital. The photos show how much of the city has remained unchanged. Their creator Sebastian Maharg plans to track down further locations from photos of the era to continue the project. Read more: elpais.com
