Australian conservationists garner international support

A young farming couple, recently featured on an Australian television documentary, have been inundated with messages of support from around the world including from Canada, Vietnam and the UK. The couple decided to forgo running cattle on their land and instead focus on regenerating the land’s native flora and fauna despite the economic challenges this poses. Support for their commitment to the land have included requests from potential tourists to stay at the property (which is seven hours north of Perth in Western Australia) and artists asking if they can come and paint the landscape. One poster on Facebook wrote: ‘This is not just an Australian Story – it’s the story of the century. It’s the story of the triumph of wisdom over greed, of passion over pessimism.’
