Swedes among revellers arrested after Lamu curfew

Twenty-two revellers were charged at Lamu courts on Monday for breaching the curfew law, which had recently been extended to 24 December. Among them were six Swedish nationals who were arrested on Saturday at the floating bar on Shella Island. The 22 were also charged with two counts of being drunk and disorderly. All pleaded guilty to the charges, and when the Swedes were asked what they had in mitigation, they pleaded with the court that they were not aware the curfew was so serious.
