World’s largest tapestry on display in Stirling

The Great Tapestry of Scotland, which depicts 42 million years of history across 160 panels, will go on show in Stirling Castle on 31 January. The artwork, which is 143m long and uses 483km of yarn, includes panels on Ice Age Scotland, the Battle of Bannockburn and Andy Murray’s Wimbledon win. The tapestry has been touring Scotland (it’s currently in New Lanark), but Stirling Castle’s Great Hall is one of the few venues big enough for it to be viewed in its entirety. Read more: bbc.co.uk
