Kansas City’s Union Station has released a free augmented reality app called ‘Living History’, which gives users an interactive way to explore the stories and history of the train station. The app took nearly six months to create, utilizing mapping technology to digitize the layout of the station and additional Bluetooth sensors installed around the building. When users enter an area where an event occurred, a notification is sent to their phone. Users can then read the historical background of the event, watch a video reenactment and view photos. Users can also take photos of themselves interacting with actors from the video and share photos across social media. Read more: bizjournals.com
