Nepal Airlines to resume mountain flights

After 17 years Nepal Airlines is to resume sightseeing flights over the Himalaya.

After a 17 year gap, Nepal Airlines, the beleaguered national carrier of Nepal, will be resuming mountain flights to view the Himalaya using its new Chinese-made MA60 aircraft. The popular sightseeing flights were cancelled in the 1990s after the airline’s last air-worthy Avro HS-748 was retired, and it has taken nearly two decades for the airline to acquire another aircraft capable of making the flight. Nepal Airlines has taken ownership of two new Chinese planes in recent months, a sign of growing economic cooperation between the two countries. Read more:  ekantipur.com
