Lisbon to introduce new tourist taxes

Lisbon City Council has announced plans to charge a temporary tourist tax of €1 per visitor arriving by air or sea. The tax will run from 2015 until 2019 and is expected to raise €7 million for the city. From 2016 €1 will be charged for each overnight stay up to a maximum of €7 per tourist, with the exception of children. This will run until 2019. Read more: eturbonews.com
