Bird flu found at a farm in central Netherlands

Around 150,000 chickens are being destroyed at a Dutch farm as authorities have  found a highly contagious strain of bird flu, H5N8. A 72-hour ban on transporting poultry goods in the country has been imposed and it’s expected that the European Commission will also ban the selling of goods to other countries. The Netherlands is the world’s leading exporter of eggs and a leading poultry exporter. Read more: theguardian.com
