Marathon reading of Moby Dick in New York for 163rd anniversary

This weekend hundreds of New Yorkers will be taking part in a marathon-style reading of Herman Melville’s Moby Dick, which was published 163 years ago on Friday. The book only sold 3,200 copies during the author’s lifetime but was perhaps most appreciated by the New York’s literati of the time. The reading will take place over the 14th, 15th and 16th in three locations in the city, and readers include Emily Gould and Ophira Eisenberg. Read more: gothamist.com
