Indian president Pranab Mukherjee has been warned to wear contact lenses when visiting the famous Banke Bihari temple in Mathura next week as the macaque monkeys that congregate at the temple have a habit of stealing glasses from visitors. Trained langur monkeys will also be deployed to scare off the aggressive macaques during the presidential visit, drawing criticism from local devotees who see this as further evidence of special treatment for VIPs.
