Violent protests over missing students closes Acapulco airport

Protesters, angry at the disappearance of 43 students, became violent on Monday and turned their attention to Acapulco’s airport, blockading it and causing disruption to travellers. Footage released last week, showing gang members admitting to the killing of the students, has stoked resentment against the police and authorities, who are accused of working with the criminals responsible. The trouble in Acapulco follows clashes across the country at the weekend, with President Pena Nieto under pressure to do something to tackle the country’s violence. Read more: euronews.com
