First Russian bear repellent developed in Siberia

Russia’s first-ever bear repellent will soon appear on the market. It was developed in Siberia and specifically targets bears, but can also be used for protection against wolves and foxes. The repellent has no ill-effect on the animals; it works by letting off a pungent pepper-based scent, which bears hate. The new product should help people in rural areas as well as hikers and campers, because many parts of the Urals and Siberia have a growing bear problem and attacks on people have increased in recent years.
