President Evo Morales of Bolivia has signed a contract for the construction of a new presidential palace. Inspired by the pre-Hispanic architecture of the Tiahuanaco civilization, it will replace the current colonial structure that has been use since the 16th century. The new palace, to be called “The Great House of the People”, will be decorated in a way that reminds citizens of its indigenous heritage. Read more: bbc.com
