Uber faces challenges in Las Vegas

On Wednesday a Las Vegas judge refused to ban the ridesharing service Uber from operating in the city. Lawyers from the Nevada attorney general’s office argued that Uber drivers failed to comply with regulations that apply to regular taxi drivers and that unlicensed drivers are a danger to riders. But a legal representative from Uber said that the service keeps drunk drivers off the road by providing transportation where there is no taxi service. When it began service in Nevada on Friday, Uber was immediately met with opposition, and counties in Northern Nevada quickly banned Uber from operating.
