Bogota public transport system rated most dangerous for women

The public transport system of Colombia’s capital city of Bogota is the most unsafe for women, according to a Thomson Reuters survey. More than 6000 women in 16 of the world’s largest cities answered six questions about how safe they felt using public transportation at night. Bogota’s system has no metro or train, only a mass transit bus system that connects to several smaller lines. Other Latin American cities, including Lima, Mexico City and Buenos Aires, were also ranked among the worst, as six out of ten women surveyed, faced harassment when commuting by public transport.
