Sri Lanka landslide kills ten, traps hundreds

Ten people have been killed and hundreds of people have been trapped by a huge landslide in Badulla, Sri Lanka. Hundreds of houses were destroyed by the slip, which follows weeks of heavy rain in a particularly severe monsoon season. For travellers, Badulla is best known as the end terminus for the Hill Country railway, a popular route to the Sri Lankan highlands. Read more: bbc.co.uk
