Notebook from final Scott Antarctic expedition found in ice

The notebook of George Murray Levick, a photographer and surgeon who joined explorer Robert Falcon Scott’s final expedition to Antarctica from 1910-1913, was found in ice. The notebook, which provides information about photographs taken of Scott, was discovered in January 2013 at the Cape Evans base after summer snow melt surrounding a building exposed it. The Antarctic Heritage Trust in New Zealand conserved the notebook – its pages were stuck together and its binding had dissolved after 100 years in the ice. Read more: cnn.com
