Grave-robbers steal ancient artefacts in Denmark

Four ancient burial mounds around Billund, Denmark, have been plundered by ‘professional’ grave-robbers, who have stolen historical artefacts over 4,000 years old. Archaeologists have been prevented from excavating the graves as they are protected by Danish law, however, they know that similar graves were used to inter the bodies of important figures of the day, alongside their precious belongings. Experts say that any information which could have been gleaned from the sites has now been ‘erased from history’. Read more: thelocal.dk
