Japan on high alert as typhoon Vongfong hits land

More than 300 flights have been grounded and dozens of people have been injured with at least one person missing as typhoon Vongfong made landfall in Japan on Monday morning. Residents are being told to remain on alert as the typhoon is forecast to move northeast and is expected to reach the Tokyo region late on Monday or early on Tuesday. Read more: japantimes.co.jp
