Singapore ready for annual firewalking festival

Steeped in Hindu traditions, Singapore’s annual Firewalking Ceremony will take place on Sunday, with several Chinatown roads to be closed off to traffic for the occassion. The ceremony involves a foot procession starting at Sri Srinivasa Perumal Temple on Serangoon Road on Sunday afternoon, ending at Sri Mariamman Temple on South Bridge Road, where devotees will walk across a bed of white-hot embers to prove their faith.
