An epic journey that began in 1989 has come to an end after traveller Gunther Holtorf returned to his native Germany following a 900,000km trip around the globe. Holtorf set off with his fourth wife in their blue 4×4 – nicknamed Otto – and, after she died in 2010, Holtorf vowed to complete the journey they’d planned together, taking in a staggering 215 countries. Holtorf confirmed that Otto will be put on display at Stuttgart’s Daimler Museum as the world’s best-travelled vehicle. Read more: thelocal.de
