Sochi hosts Russia’s first Grand Prix this weekend

Russia will host its first Formula One race in Sochi on the weekend of 11 and 12 October. The race will run around Sochi’s Olympic Park. Organisers expect about 55,000 spectators, mostly from Russia, and President Vladimir Putin is also expected to attend. Sochi is the only new circuit on the Grand Prix calendar for this season. It is going ahead despite criticisms from western countries and sanctions against Russia due to the crisis in Ukraine and annexation of Crimea. Read more: world.einnews.com
