Korea begins annual hangeul writing celebrations

South Korea marks the annual celebration of its writing system, hangeul, with a number of events around the country. The National Hangeul Museum opened on Thursday, featuring exhibitions on the history and iconography of the alphabet’s 24 letters, including a historic typewriter that utilised hangeul letters. Other events include a hangeul-themed fashion show and a stage musical about the king who instituted Korea’s writing system. Read more: koreaherald.com
