A new artwork is to be installed in the town of Srebrenica in Bosnia & Hercegovina to mark the 20th anniversary of the genocide that took place there.

The artwork, which will become a permanent part of the Srebrenica memorial, is made up of 100,000 ceramic bones that commemorate the victims of the Bosnian war who were found in mass graves. The bones were originally part of the ‘One Million Bones’ installation in Washington DC in 2013 that aimed to raise awareness of genocides and other mass atrocities. Read more: balkaninsight.com
