Great War Exhibtion

Museum in Wellington

Created by filmmaker Sir Peter Jackson and housed in a beautiful old museum building, this highly visual exhibition tells the story of NZ's involvement in WWI through painstakingly colourised large-scale photos and set-like reconstructions. The highlight is a detailed diorama depicting the battle of Chunuk Bair during the Gallipoli campaign. It was created for the 100th anniversary of the war, with an end-date in 2018, although we suspect it will run for longer; check online for details.
