Soak in thermally heated water at this unpretentious, family-oriented facility, 5km northwest of Turangi. Check out the private pools before committing, they can be a little grimy. A 500m stroll along the boardwalk (wheelchair accessible) showcases boiling mud pools, a trout-filled stream and thermal springs used by the Ngāti Tūwharetoa for bathing and cooking for more than 500 years.
