If you're looking for Taupo's coolest cafe, you've just found it. Setting the scene since 2013, Storehouse is located in an old plumbing store over two levels. Downstairs, indoor plants drape over warehouse beams, and upstairs a bike is inexplicably fastened to the wall. The breakfast salad bowl often sells out – guess that means we're having fried-chicken waffles.
Festoon lights hang above a cosy kids' play nook, and there's a small store selling local goods, from honey to merino clothing.
