Getting There & Away
Portobello is a scenic 20km drive from Dunedin along the harbour.
On weekdays, buses make the journey from Dunedin's Cumberland St to Portobello Village from 7.30am to 10.30pm (adult/child $6/3.60, one hour, half-hourly), with four services continuing to Harrington Point at the tip of the peninsula. On Saturdays the service reduces to hourly from 8.30am.
Once on the peninsula, it’s tough to get around without your own transport. Most tours will pick you up from your Dunedin accommodation.
There’s no petrol available on the peninsula.
