Cinema in Opunake

This restored 1920s theatre, run by volunteers, underwent a major renovations in 2016. It cost $250,000 to earthquake-proof the building and at the time of writing $900,000 had been spent to do it up. With couches downstairs and regular movie theatre seating upstairs, it shows the latest releases as well as classic, foreign and fringe films on 'boutique nights'.
