Modern NZ in Auckland

The latest opening from Simon Gault, one of NZ's most well-known chefs, Giraffe combines a stylish but casual harbourside dining room with an intensely local and seasonal menu. The restaurant was named by Gault's then 3½-year-old daughter, and the menu is packed with sophisticated and superior versions of comfort food such as pork and prawn Wellington, and roast chicken.

Local seafood takes a starring role with NZ oysters, mussels and fish often worked into the various plates designed for sharing.
