Tour description provided by Viator

This wonderful 2-hour art tour is led by a local and respected art critic, TJ (Terry) McNamara or Assoc Prof Linda Tyler. Join the locals on the regular Saturday morning Walk & Talk an Art PrecinctThere are several art precincts in Auckland. Over Spring & Summer/Autumn there are regularly guided tours on a Saturday morning to one of the precincts. You need to contact us or see the website to know where we are meeting.
Explore Auckland’s different precincts of fine contemporary dealer art galleries. With ever changing exhibitions of emerging, mid-career and established artists, each week discover a different cluster of galleries. We are introduced to the gallery, gallerist, the exhibition and sometimes we are lucky to get to talk with an artist. We get all the extras of being with a guide the gallerists know and respect. Returning several weeks later we find new exhibitions and therefore new experiences.‘TJ’ Terry McNamara MNZM, one of New Zealand’s most well-known and knowledgeable art commentators, having written for NZ Herald for over 50 years, is the main guide for the Auckland Saturday morning Walk & Talk an Art Precinct. He freely shares his extensive knowledge. When he is not available, Assoc Prof Linda Tyler,  Director of the Centre for Art Studies at The University of Auckland, University of Auckland Art Collection Manager, generously gives her time for the Walks.
