The 15 day Delta and Dunes tour is one of our most comprehensive. Visiting all of the major places in Namibia and also taking in the Okavango Delta in Botswana. The first day we head straight to Botswana, spending the first night in Ghanzi with the Bushmen. For the next 4 nights we stay by the Okavango Delta, before heading back into Namibia to the Caprivi Strip for 1 night. We then head south for 3 nights in Etosha National Park full of African wildlife. From Etosha, we head to Damaraland for one night, then onto the coastal town, Swakopmund, for two nights. The tour finishes in the Namib Desert in Sossusvlei for 2 nights seeing some of the world’s highest sand dunes in the world’s oldest desert.
Day 1: Windhoek – Ghanzi (550 km) (LD) (Camp)Heading straight to the boarder and into Botswana, we arrive at our campsite in the late afternoon.Day 2: Ghanzi – Okavango Panhandle (450 km) (BLD) (Camp)The next stop is the Okavango Panhandle, for 4 nights by the edge of the Okavango Delta. We set off in the morning, then have some free time when we get to our camp.Day 3: Okavango Delta (BLD) (Camp)This morning we have our first taste of a Mokoro boat which will be our form of transport for the next 2 days. We travel deep into the Delta to one of the islands for a guided walk and lunch before heading back to the camp.Day 4: Okavango Delta (BLD) (Camp)This morning consists of an early morning bushwalk. There is either another walk in the afternoon or a Mokoro cruise on the Delta.Day 5: Okavango Delta (BLD) (Camp)Today we spend the day how the locals spend it; on the Delta. Home to amazing bird life and also a chance to see crocs and hippos.Day 6: Okavango Delta – Rundu (350 km) (BL) (Camp)Today we travel back to Namibia taking a game drive through the Mahango Game Reserve along the way. Our camp is on the main river of the Okavango.Day 7: Rundu – Namutoni (450 km) (BLD) (Camp)After exploring one of the local markets we head through the Kavango Region to get to Etosha. We will arrive in time for lunch then set off on our first game.Day 8: Namutoni (BLD) (Camp)We head straight out for an early morning game drive then head back to the camp for some free time before another afternoon game drive before sunset.Day 9: Namutoni – Okaukuejo (BLD) (Camp)Today we spend the whole day game driving whilst slowly making our way to our second campsite.Day 10: Okaukuejo – Twyfelfontein (400 km) (BLD) (Camp)Travelling through the most scenic area of our tour we head to Damaraland. We stop for lunch and a guided tour at the Petrified Forest geological site before continuing to our campsite. After some time to relax we head back out for a late afternoon tour around Twyfelfontein.Day 11: Twyfelfontein – Swakopmund (400 km) (BL) (Hotel)On the way to Swakopmund we drive along the Skeleton Coast and take a stop off to see the seals at Cape Cross. We arrive after lunch and have a free afternoon to relax.Day 12: Swakopmund (B) (Hotel)Today is a free day.Day 13: Swakopmund – Sesriem (300 km) (BLD) (Camp)We make a quick stop at Walvis Bay to see the flamingos before heading to the desert for our last 2 nights, arriving in time for a sundowner.Day 14: Sesriem (BLD) (Camp)A very early start today to watch the sunrise over the Namib desert; getting a chance to visit Dune 45, Big Daddy and Dead Vlei. After a free afternoon we take a short excursion to Sesriem Canyon.Day 15: Sesriem – Windhoek (450 km) (BL)Today we head back to Windhoek arriving early evening.
