Hello

I'm going to travel for 3 weeks in Namibia with my boyfriend at the end of august and this is our 1st trip to Africa. We're planning on renting a 4x4 and camp. This itinerary would be roughly:
Windhoeck -> Naukluft mtn -> Sossusvlei --> Spitzkoppe --> Palmwag --> Purros --> Epupa Falls --> Etosha --> Waterberg --> Windhoeck
Our main focus is landscapes, animals and hike. What do you think of this itinerary? Is it doable in 3 weeks without rushing?
I have a doubt regarding Palmwag: what is it…

Hi all! Me and my boyfriend cycled all over East Africa and Zambia. Now we're considering if we should continue on to Namibia or not. The landscape in Zambia is very boring, mostly just long grass, and I'm afraid that the caprivi strip will be the same. How are the landscapes in the caprivi strip, Kavango and from Windhoek to Swakopmund? Are there any regions or places nearby that are beautiful and doable to visit by bicycle?

How bad are the sandstorms in July and August? Are there only…

Hi travelers !

I'm Greg, French guy in his 30's.

I just booked a one way flight to Windhoek, Namibia, landing there on the 27th of July.

The plan ?
Exploring by 4WD lovely Namibian nature and wild life for a couple of weeks.
Camping on these roof 4WD tents some nights to enjoy the nature a maximum, in campings some nights, why not in lodges once in a while.

So road trip in the desert, National Parks, some days more chill out...

My idea is then to go to Botswana, and maybe til Victoria Falls…

We have 1 week to drive from Kasane to Windhoek.
Do you think it s possible to do it in a relaxed way if we wANt to stop in different spots to visit Chobe?
I was thinking about spending a couple of nights in Savuti, 1 more between Savuti and Maun and one or two more in Maun area.

Thank you!

Hi everyone, I tried to get permits to hike the Fish River Canyon in July (anytime between 6 July and 19 July), but without success. Is there maybe a group we could join (we are 2) - I understand that group size may be 3 - 10. Or is there some other option to hike at least a part of the canyon?
Otherwise, can anyone recommend some good hikes in Namibia (without guide if possible)?
Thanks, Petr

Hello,

we are going to Namibia for just over 3 weeks at the end of may, camping and driving a 4x4 for the whole trip with a lodge here and there. We have booked most of our trip but are struggling with he last leg. Our journey is as follows Windhoek, Spitzkoppe, Madisa Camp, Palmwag Camp, Khowarib Camp, Purros, Grootberg Lodge, Etosha. We then have about 7 days before we have to arrive back in Windhoek and we are super keen to head up to Ngepi Camp in the Caprivi strip for a change in scenery.

As I was expecting, it,s being hard to get accomodation for august, in Etosha and Sesriem/Soss.
But even for november, most of lodges are fully booked.
I was thinking that tour operators might have booked throught booking so they can resale. Do you think is this possible?
Should I contact tour operators myself? Do you know any?
Do you know what can we do?
Even campsites are booked!

Thanks,
Estef

Has anyone ever ventured into this part of the world? It looks like there is very little going on there, but at least there are regional airports which could potentially make getting somewhere somewhat cheaper!

I am a solo traveler and am planning to spend a month going around Namibia from June 28 to July26. I have created an itinerary but now am convinced that the long distances from point to point would make this journey very challenging by car. So l am looking for people interested in building a joint itinerary and traveling together by suv for the month or parts of it.
