This expertly taught, hands-on Burmese cooking class is held in a pleasant garden setting just across the Bago River from Yangon. The six-hour program covering 10 dishes (various diets can be catered for, including vegetarian) includes a shopping trip to Thanlyin market and a visit to a local monastery to make a donation.

Because the classes are outdoors, the courses generally run only between October and March in dry season. You will have to arrange your own transport to Thanlyin.
