Drive to Pyin Oo Lwin and visit to Purcell Tower, the morning vegetable market, Botanical Garden, and so on. The next day, we will take a local train on a scenic ride over the famous Goitek Viaduct and continue to Hsipaw (sometimes spelt Thibaw), a charming and laid-back town located high in the hills of Shan State.
Day 1: Mandalay - Pyin Oo Lwin (-/-/-)Drive to PyinOoLwin which is 42 miles away from Mandalay (about a one and a half hours drive) and was a former British Hill Station. The town was originally renamed Maymyo after the British Colonel May who established the towns beautiful botanical gardens built by Turkish prisoners of war during WWI.It is on the way to Lashio and to the Chinese border town of Muse. The sightseeing highlights of Pyin U Lwin include Purcell Tower, which was a present from Queen Victoria; the morning vegetable market; the Church of the Immaculate Conception, the Botanical Garden; NaungKanGyiPaya where you can see a panoramic view of the town; B.E waterfall, Peik Chin Myaung Cave and Maha AntHtooKanthar Pagoda, wish fulfilling pagoda.Overnight in Pyin Oo LwinDay 2: Pyin Oo Lwin - Naung Pain (Train) - Hsipaw (B/-/-)Early morning transfer to the train station to take a local train on a scenic ride over the famous Goitek Viaduct which crosses a deep gorge. We will disembark the train at Naung Pain Village and continue drive to Hsipaw.Enjoy afternoon sightseeing in the town, Bawgyo Pagoda and watch the panorama from the top of Theintaung hill.Overnight in HsipawDay 3: Hsipaw trekking and Return to Mandalay (B/-/-)Walk to farmer’s villages, enjoy the panoramic scenery of paddy, seasonal crops, mountain, river, and observe living style of Shan villages and house wife home business (Producing the bamboo hand fan, basket weaving, cheroot rolling etc.)Afternoon we will drive back to Mandalay.
