Sit comfortably alongside your “chauffeur” and prepare your camera. You will be riding through the small backstreets of the city to take the pulse of Mandalay in the afternoon. You will make a few stops to some local shops where your guide will let you try traditional snacks: tea leaf salad, the famous Mohinga – fish soup and noodle, usually enjoyed at breakfast, samosas or fresh fruits. In this part of town, you can still visit family businesses and workshops. After enjoying mouthwatering snacks, you will ride to Nan Shae Market – also called East Palace Market – where you will elbow your way to the stalls with locals running their errands before going back home to cook dinner. Tour the market with your guide before hopping back on the trishaw. The last leg of the journey will bring you around Shwenandaw – the beautiful wooden monastery – Kuthodaw and at the corner of Mandalay Palace: three beautiful spots to snap unique pictures! Your exploration of Mandalay’s backstreets is coming to an end! After the half day excursion in the evening around 05.00 pm, transfer back to your hotel by ending the tour.
