Inhaca Island is a beautifully situation island surrounded by Maputo Bay and the Indian Ocean. The island is well known for its coral reefs, of which have been designated as a marine reserve and much more flora and fauna.
Inhaca Island is a popular destination amongst ecotourists and researchers for very good reason. There is so much beauty to be found on the island that ranges from mangroves to grassy plains to cultivated fields. There is a lush sub-tropical forest on the island home to many different tree species. There are also plenty of different species of fish found in the area and there are hundreds of different kinds of birds found here. Additionally, and as expected, this island is also quite serene with its calm, blue water and sandy beaches.Itinerary:This morning you will be picked up from your accommodation, anywhere in Maputo. The exact time is to be determined as it will be based on the tides.Once your guide has picked you up, you will be transferred to a boat headed for Inhaca Island. You will be provided a light breakfast on route to the Island.Today, the day is essentially yours to do as you please and enjoy your beach getaway! You can opt to explore the island and its lushness or simply relax and take a dip in the Indian Ocean. Don't forget your swimsuit!Lunch is included today, and it will consist of the freshest caught fish. Lunch will be served whatever time you let us know you're hungry today. This afternoon on our way back to Maputo, we will make a stop at Portuguese Island.After our quick visit to the island, we will head back to Maputo where you can expect to be back at your accommodation between 4pm and 4:30pm (again, tide/weather dependant).End of tour.
