Hiking the Vrmac Ridge, which straddles both Kotor and Tivat, is an ideal fitness activity and offers epic panoramic views of the Bay of Kotor. Your personal trainer is a specialist in sports physiology, yoga, pilates and nutrition. Together you will establish a pace and as you ascend to 450 meters above sea level to the saddle of the ridge, with or without hiking poles, and optionally engage in stretching, sprinting, jumping and even weight training using natural materials.
You'll be met by your personal trainer at either the cruise ship terminal, or at another convenient location if you are staying in the area. The activity takes around three hours but can be customised in conjunction with your trainer at the start of the hike. The trailhead is a short 5 minute car ride from Kotor. You'll ascend along an ancient carriageway from the era of the Austro-Hungarian Empire that winds through a pine forest carpeted with subtropical fauna. It's important to have a bottle of water, and if possible a carrier or light back pack, however your trainer can supply one if you don't have one. Adjustable hiking poles are available to use but optional. Sunscreen and hat are also highly recommended.
